The Public Awareness & Advocacy Committee (PAAC) has two co-chairs: an ODSP recipient co-chair and an agency co-chair which is usually someone from a supportive agency or non-profit organization.
PAAC typically meets monthly for two hours over Zoom. During meetings, we discuss ongoing and local issues with ODSP, plan/strategize events/activities, issues that people with disabilities face such as (in)accessible housing, ways we can advocate in the media and in public about ODSP issues, and other related topics. It may be worth noting that there is considerable ‘cross-pollination’ between our two active committees.
Committee meetings are open to members of the Coalition. The Coalition is mostly made up of ODSP recipients but also includes social policy experts, supportive agencies, students, and other trusted allies.
